The interfacing software facilitates the transfer of test results from the diagnostic analyzer to the PC via its serial (RS 232) port. These results are stored in a database for later access and use by the client’s LIMS application.
Compared to simple instruments, complex instruments generate multiple result files for various samples. Due to the complexity of their file formats, an application is required to parse these files, simplify the results, and integrate them into the LIMS system.
